Management estimates a pro forma hit of about 240 basis points to CET-1, from 13.7% reported to about 11.4%, with overall Tier 1 near 13.7%, and said coupons, legal remedies and capital actions are under assessment. Net profit was ₹1,080 crore, up 65%, with operating profit up 29.4% and return on assets of 0.9%. Net interest margin fell to 2.6% because FCNR(B) money of ₹18,575 crore was not yet deployed, and management expects Q3 margins to be similar and Q4 to improve.
Reported advances grew 23.7%, or 17.6% without the foreign currency loans, while gross NPA was 1.2% and net NPA 0.2%. The bank says it can grow about 11% without consuming capital and has no pressing need to solve for capital. It gave no decision on coupons, reinstatement timing or a capital raise amount.
