Reported profit of ₹132 crore was up 17% on the year but down 55% on Q1. Mutual fund quarterly average AUM rose to ₹4.02 lakh crore, a market share of 4.61%, helped by net sales of about ₹5,720 crore, while SIP AUM held near ₹45,572 crore and UTI's share of new SIP registrations was 4.08%. Management said Flexi-Cap remains the main challenge, with large outflows, though its three-month performance is now first quartile, and equity redemptions came mainly from banks and national distributors.
Yields held near 31 basis points, passive growth may thin them slightly, and employee cost guidance was kept. The company keeps paying out 90% to 95% of profit as dividend but has no plan for a special dividend despite its large cash balance, and will launch its first specialised investment fund in Q3.
