Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.Steady Growth Amid Margin Reset
View full dashboardTata Consultancy Services delivered its fourth consecutive quarter of growth in Q1 FY27, with revenue reaching ₹72,275 crore, representing a robust 13.9% year-on-year increase and 2.2% sequential growth.
The company secured a strong total contract value of $9.5 billion, highlighted by the sixth mega deal in five quarters—an $800 million transformational engagement with SKF. AI services continue accelerating with annualized revenue reaching $2.6 billion, up 13.6% quarter-on-quarter, though incremental additions moderated to $75 million due to project-based lumpiness. Operating margins compressed 130 basis points to 24% primarily due to wage hikes, but management remains committed to exiting FY27 at 25%+ through progressive quarterly improvements.
Despite near-term geopolitical uncertainties causing project deferrals, management expressed cautious optimism for Q2 demand recovery driven by significant pent-up technology backlogs at clients. Strategic AI partnerships with Anthropic, Mistral AI, and ServiceNow strengthen TCS's positioning as an AI-led transformation leader. Cash conversion remained strong at 93% of net income, reflecting healthy operational execution.
