Orient Electric's Q2 FY27 call, held on 15 October 2026, reported revenue of ₹879 crore, up 25.2%, EBITDA of ₹57 crore, up 49.7%, and profit after tax of ₹27 crore, more than double a year ago.

Fans, with BLDC up 26% and almost 30% of ceiling fans, grew in high double digits and gained share, lighting and switchgear grew 25.7%, and wires more than doubled. Gross margin fell to 29% as copper, aluminium and steel inflation outran price rises, even after increases of 3% to 6% in Q2 and about 3% in October that cover roughly 80% to 100% of inflation. Working capital rose to 34 days and is targeted at about 20 days in four to six quarters.

Management said growth should exceed 15% a year, pushed the double-digit EBITDA margin out to four to six quarters, repeated a long-run gross margin goal of 32%, and did not repeat last quarter's hope of a quick recovery to 30% to 32%. Cost savings of ₹23 crore in H1 are expected to beat last year's roughly ₹70 crore.
