Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Ltd.KIMS Hospitals: Rs. 1,500 crore QIP funds debt paydown as Kondapur ramps hard
View full dashboardKIMS Hospitals grew standalone revenue 36.1% YoY to Rs. 1,196 crore on strong volumes -- IP admissions up 26.6% and OP visits up 28.5% -- but standalone PAT fell to Rs. 37 crore from Rs. 85 crore a year ago, weighed down by preoperative costs at newly commissioned hospitals and rental drag from the old Kondapur facility still running alongside its much larger replacement. The company raised Rs. 1,500 crore through an oversubscribed QIP plus a Rs. 600 crore preferential allotment to promoters, using over Rs. 1,100 crore to cut debt from Rs. 3,250 crore to roughly Rs. 2,400 crore, with interest savings expected to show up from Q2. The new flagship Kondapur hospital, which opened mid-June, delivered Rs. 45 crore in its first full month -- 40% ahead of the smaller facility it replaces -- and management sees it scaling to roughly Rs. 1,200 crore in annual revenue over four to five years as oncology and transplant programs mature.
The Bengaluru cluster's Mahadevapura unit has already broken even, Thane turned a corner in July after key insurance empanelments landed, and the company signed O&M agreements for two new hospitals in its core Telangana-Andhra markets. Management's stated priority for the next several quarters is stabilizing these newly commissioned assets before pursuing further greenfield expansion.
