Global advances grew 29.83% against 14% to 16% guided, helped by FCNR(B) mobilisation and a new GIFT City branch, while the CASA ratio of 44.65% missed a 48% guide and cost to income of 58.95% missed an under-56% guide. Gross NPA was 2.39%, net NPA 0.31%, coverage 97.16% and credit cost 0.53%. The bank needs ₹5,000 to ₹5,500 crore for the expected credit loss transition, of which ₹1,525 crore is already provided, and has not decided between a one-time hit and staggering.
It expects about ₹700 crore from an aviation account and more than ₹2,500 crore from written-off accounts this year. It gave no ROA commitment beyond this year and no date for bringing cost to income down.
