Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC's Q2 FY27 call, held on 21 October 2026, showed a fund house whose headline size jumped on government mandates while its own mutual fund business grew slowly.

Total average AUM crossed ₹11 lakh crore, up 140%, after the company won EPFO and ESIC mandates that management called expense-neutral. Mutual fund AUM rose only 4% to ₹4.42 lakh crore against an industry gain of about 13%, and equity AUM rose 9% to ₹2.09 lakh crore. Quarterly revenue was ₹526 crore, up about 4%, but profit after tax fell about 8% to ₹221 crore as ESOP cost and a one-time base effect lifted employee expenses.

Management said improving fund performance is turning into better flows: 85% of funds are in the peer group and beating benchmarks, the Flexi Cap share has risen to about 4.5% to 4.8%, and 25% to 30% of redemptions are now retained. New engines include a three-product SIF platform near ₹700 crore, passives at ₹39,860 crore and six planned GIFT City launches. Costs should stay near Q2 levels apart from inflation. No earlier promises were on file for comparison.
